Matt – this is a nice one. Reminds me of the work that Kertesz did while living in New York in the 50s – formal and symmetrical, but with an unusual element of contrast – the detail-less rectangle of the center building between the foreground and the background, almost like a gigantic cardboard cutout. Really works well, I think.
Thanks, Max. Glad you like it. Philladelphia has real sky scrapers – the old kind, the high kind – so these things naturally occur to you when snag a 11th floor hotel room. Not something that happens much in DC.
